This is a game-ready character, created from scratch using ZBrush, Blender, and Substance Painter.
Design wise, the idea behind this character is simple: what if a person in a fantasy world lost an arm, and had it replaced with the arm of a dragon? That was my starting point, and the character evolved from there.
For both the clothing and body, I used high-poly modelling to create most of the details, and then baked them onto a low-poly re-topologized version to improve theoretical game performance. The hair was created using custom hair textures baked onto cards, which were deformed around the head using curves.
In the end, this character uses a total of 26,000 polygons including the clothing and body, two 4k PBR texture sets for the body and clothes, and one additional mask for the hair.
